The weather was just about perfect tonight on the square in McLeansboro, Il for one of the last concerts of the season. Sponsored by the Beautification Task Force, the volunteers who keep our square looking so pretty and sponsor the “Yard of the Month” and do a lot of other nice things for this town, the concert at the Gazebo tonight featured the gospel music stylings of Joseph Rush and Mrs. Patsy Holdren who did some singing and kept us entertained with her singing puppets to the delight of an appreciative crowd.

Mr. Rush seemed a very confident young man as he lent his voice to several upbeat gospel songs. It’s good to see the talent which Mr. Rush possesses put to good use.

It was great seeing my friend Patsy Holdren performing too. She told me she was keeping busy these days with several irons in the fire.

If you’re looking to do some good for this town, the place where you live and where your children are growing up, why not consider joining the Beautification Task Force. A few hours here and there helping out can make a big difference. If you don’t want to join by yourself, get a friend to join with you and both of you can work together. Email me at mmezo@AppleInMyMind.com and I’ll put you in touch with the right people to help you get started. Don’t stay at home and be by yourself this winter. Put your time to good use and make some friends and help out our little corner of the world. Keep in mind too that the performers you see at the Gazebo are all donating their time and talent to making these events happen. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
